The Story: Working with this family on their modest kitchen remodel was a joy all around! Their love of the mid-century aesthetic had to be reflected in the kitchen and every decision balanced against budget. The assignment: come up with a kick-ass design that incorporated modern elements and no small amount of DIY.
How did we do it? We defined key goals and needs before ever putting pencil to paper (or mouse to 3d computer model as it were). The important elements were: increased connection between the kitchen and dining area, white/clean feel, contemporary aesthetic, place for family to gather.
The family assembled all the cabinets (purchased from Ikea) while the contractor was in the kitchen working on demolition and finishes.
